Tuoppi Archipelago Bread Flour Mix
The sweet Archipelago bread is a gem of Western Finnish baking tradition, beloved by catering services and a staple in holiday tables – it pairs beautifully with cured salmon for festive gatherings.
Laihian Mallas Oy has expanded its product range to offer a larger pack of flour mix for Archipelago bread fans. The 1 kg Tuoppi Archipelago Bread Flour Mix includes all the necessary flours, malts, sugars, and salt to make this traditional sweet bread. Simply add dry yeast to the flour mix in a bowl, pour in warm water, and you’re ready to bake. One package makes two large loaves.
If you were to make Archipelago bread from scratch, you’d need several types of flour, malts, syrup, yeast, salt, and liquid (water, juice, or buttermilk). With the Tuoppi 1 kg Archipelago Bread Flour Mix, you only need to add yeast, water, and a baking pan.
The packaging is paper-laminated, ensuring freshness.
TIP! Use the mix as a base for a sandwich cake by baking it in a ring mold. A 1 kg bag of flour mix is enough for two 18–20 cm pans or one larger 24 cm round pan.
You can substitute dry yeast with fresh yeast (½ cube or 25 g of fresh yeast equals one packet of dry yeast). Dissolve the fresh yeast in lukewarm water (37°C) before mixing.
