Biokia Organic Chocolate Bilberries
The tropical flavour of chocolate is the perfect prelude to the full, fresh and natural taste of the bilberry. These two flavours soon blend beautifully. Dried bilberries have been eaten for ages, and now Biokia offers them completed with chocolate. Wild grown organic Finnish bilberries contain much higher amounts of nutrients than cultivated blueberries.

Add more vitamins to your day with dried berries
Nordic berries, such as bilberries, lingonberries and blackcurrants, are rich in vitamins, flavonoids and dietary fiber. Though the season for enjoying fresh berries is quite short here up North, dried berries are an excellent way to enjoy the benefits of berries throughout the year. Berries are harvested in the summer or autumn and dried as a whole which ensures that all the important nutrients are preserved. Dried berries are versatile and easy to use: you can add them to porridge, yoghurt, salads or desserts or enjoy them as such as a healthy snack. Dried berries can be stored for a long time.
Chocolate production involves any social, economical ecological problems, such as child labor, deforestation and too low compensations for the cacao farmers. Many good initiatives have been made over the past years to ensure more sustainable chocolate production, such as various social responsibility programs to support the cacao farmers. Many smaller chocolate producers have also arisen whose whole business model is based on ethical chocolate production and for whom supporting the local farming communities is an inseparable part of the business. All the chocolate available on Arctic Pure is produced respecting the principles of sustainable development.
