The story of the Moomin confectioneries dates back to the 1950s
The Finnish confectionery brand Fazer makes confectioneries with the beloved Moomin characters created by the author and illustrator Tove Jansson. The cooperation between Fazer and Tove Jansson began already in the 1930s with Jansson illustrating ads and product packages. In the 1950s, Jansson designed and illustrated many iconic ads for Fazer, such as ads for the Christmas and summer seasons. All these ads feature the already famous Moomin characters. The first Moomin-themed confectioneries were begun to be sold in 1957 in Finland.
Moomin products – for kids and adults
Today Fazer’s Moomin product family includes biscuits, chewing gums, pastilles and a wide range of sweets such as liquorices, lollipops and marmalades. The most popular Moomin products by Fazer are the small and crunchy Moomin biscuits. Though a kids’ favourite, they are also perfect for the whole family, including the vegan family members. The soft-flavoured biscuits are available in a cardboard package as well as in a beautiful metal tin. The decoration on the tin is based on Tove Jansson’s original artwork. The cookie tin makes a perfect gift!
