How to use Sauna Salt – easy and natural

Using Sauna Salt is effortless: take the salt from its packaging and place it on the sauna stones before heating the stove.

🔥 For wood and electric saunas

• Wood-burning stove: you can place the salt directly on the stones – without a dish. However, we recommend using the soapstone base.
• Electric stove: always use the soapstone base to prevent the salt from dripping onto the heating elements. Salt is corrosive and can damage the structure of the stove if it reaches the elements directly.

💦 Steam and salt evaporation

Pour a small amount of water over the salt to start the evaporation. If using a container, do not add more than 1 tablespoon – too much water may cause the salt to boil over.

Salt begins to evaporate effectively once the sauna reaches over +70 °C. The more humid the steam, the more intense the salt experience. Suitable for standard home saunas. In larger saunas, two salt pieces may be used – it’s up to your preference.
