Rain Face Mist is a light hydrating mist built on Lapland spring water and organic birch sap. Birch sap and xylitol, both derived from birch, make up the moisturising base, and spruce shoot extract and sweetgrass bring the rest of the forest into an eleven-ingredient list.

Spruce shoots are picked in Finland in late May, when the new growth is still bright green and soft. They are more often found in syrup or tea than in skincare, which is part of what makes this formula specific rather than generic.

The ingredients

Birch sap is tapped in early spring and is mineral-rich. Xylitol, also from birch, holds moisture. Spruce shoot extract (Picea abies) and sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata) complete the formula, together with saccharide isomerate, a plant-derived moisturising ingredient.

The mist moisturises and refreshes the skin, and leaves it feeling comfortable.

How to use it in a routine

Use it on its own through the day, or as the first step after cleansing and before a serum. Moi Forest also suggests spraying it into the palm with a few drops of the Microbiome Magic Oil to make a richer treatment.

Moi Forest

Moi Forest is a Finnish natural cosmetics brand built around ingredients from the forest: birch sap, Lapland spring water, oat, lingonberry and, in several products, a humus extract drawn from forest soil. The products are made in Finland, certified Cosmos Organic, vegan and not tested on animals, and the cartons use around 75% less plastic than conventional packaging.

Usage

Spray onto clean skin from a short distance, as often during the day as you like. Can be used before a serum or moisturiser.
