Goodio - handmade vegan chocolate from Finland

Goodio was founded in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland. The founder Jukka Peltola developed games at Rovio, the video game company which created Angry Birds, but decided to change his career to food through a personal journey for better health. Goodio’s vision was to combine high-quality chocolate with Nordic flavors, all in a transparent, fair and sustainable way. Goodio chocolates are handmade from carefully selected, organic and mostly raw and wild ingredients. The blueberries, mints, sea-buckthorns and cranberries are all acquired from Finland. The cacao beans come from organic farms in Peru, Ecuador and Congo. The chocolate is prepared by stone grinding the cacao beans which preserves the nutrients much better as opposed to modern technologies.
Ethical chocolate

Ethical chocolate

Chocolate production involves any social, economical ecological problems, such as child labor, deforestation and too low compensations for the cacao farmers. Many good initiatives have been made over the past years to ensure more sustainable chocolate production, such as various social responsibility programs to support the cacao farmers. Many smaller chocolate producers have also arisen whose whole business model is based on ethical chocolate production and for whom supporting the local farming communities is an inseparable part of the business. All the chocolate available on Arctic Pure is produced respecting the principles of sustainable development.
