We are Miina and Satu, the founders of Metsä Health Oy. We both have years of experience in the field of holistic, natural health care.
A few years ago, when the pandemic was at its worst, we talked about how best to support your own well-being. Miina brought up that her mother enjoys the coniferous drink she made according to an old traditional Finnish recipe all winter long and has remained healthy. We decided to test the recipe ourselves and when the weeks passed while working remotely in the country side, we drank the coniferous drink we made ourselves and stayed healthy too!
We started researching more about the health-promoting properties of Finnish forest products and learned that we have a real treasure trove of health in the nearby forests! This is where the enthusiastic product development started - we wanted to bring coniferous drink into the modern age. As a result, our new company Metsä Health Oy and Metsä drink powders were born.
Metsä drinks are food supplements in which we combine the products of the Finnish forest to support holistic well-being. Our drinks are based on a strong and pure pine bark extract, which is synergistically combined with birch sugar, as well as lingonberry, bilberry or chaga.
We compressed the drinks into a powder form in handy sachets - nature is preserved when we don't pack and transport water! Both the sales packaging and the dosage sachets are completely recyclable.
There are no fillers, preservatives or additives in our drinks, only active ingredients.
We first brought the Strong Pine and Pine Lingonberry drinks to the market, later also Pine Bilberry and Pine Chaga will follow.
Metsä Health – our products
All the raw materials of our products are 100% Finnish. Our products are also manufactured and packaged in Finland. Metsä - supplements are very easy to use: the powders are mixed with 2-5 dl of water. The drink really tastes like the freshness of pine forests! If you mix Strong Pine powder with 5 dl of water, you get a bottle of the strongest coniferous drink on the market from one sachet!
Raw materials
Pine bark extract: Derived from the pine bark of the northern forests of Finland, containing a unique combination of bioactive ingredients. Made using the cold process method, maintaining the highest possible quality. The extreme purity of the products is ensured by choosing the raw materials from the forests of Finnish Lapland, north of the Arctic Circle. Our Strong Pine drink is the strongest pine bark product on the market!
Lingonberry: Grown completely wild in an untouched environment in the Arctic forests of the North, the lingonberry has the magic of Lapland. The combination of long harsh winters and round-the-clock sunlight in summer makes the lingonberries of the northern forests especially potent. Pine Lingonberry Drink combines the fresh power of pine and lingonberry.
Bilberry: Arctic bilberry's polyphenolic compounds give it its gorgeous dark purple, almost black color. Pine Bilberry drink combines pine and delicious bilberry.
Chaga: Wild growing chaga in arctic birches. The Pine Chaga Drink combines pine and chaga.
Birch sugar: Original, Finnish xylitol, made from Finnish birch trees.
Metsä Health – our values
Responsibility, ecologicity and domesticity We want to support and protect people's well-being, but also the environment and the ecosystem as a whole. Our company operates according to bioeconomy principles; we use wild raw materials from abundant natural resources that either go unused or are underutilized. The pines whose bark is collected to make our products are used in the furniture industry.
Our raw materials are procured from Finland, which guarantees a low carbon footprint and the high quality, purity and traceability of the products. Manufacturing and packaging are also done in Finland. We choose our suppliers according to our quality and sustainability criteria. For example, the carbon footprint of the Finnish birch sugar produced in Finland that we use is about 90% smaller than that produced from corn in China.
We have developed our drinks in powder form, to be mixed with water. The carbon footprint of freight and packaging is thus significantly smaller. All our packaging materials are recyclable.
