The story of Frantsila

The family-owned Frantsila is a pioneer in organic herb farming in Finland. The Frantsila farm has been in the family for over 300 years. The fields of Frantsila have officially been in organic farming since 1977. The family began to specialize in the manufacturing of natural health products in 1981, when Virpi Raipala-Cormier and Jim Cormier established an herbal center on the family farm.

Frantsila is committed to bringing the healing powers of Finnish plants into our use. The Northern climate and soil in Finland, natural farming methods and the optimized timing of harvesting and the processing of the plants guarantee the high quality and efficiency of the products.

The farm is located in Kyröspohja, 40 km north west of Tampere, Finland. The area is considered environmentally clean, with a high percentage of organic farms adjoining the Frantsila property. The farm has been in the same family for more than 300 year

Handmade cosmetics from Finland

Frantsila collects their plants by hand when they are at their freshest and healthiest. After this the plants are extracted when still fresh or quickly dried in low temperature in order to preserve their natural properties and guarantee their microbiological purity. The purity and efficiency of Frantsila’s plants are regularly tested.

Frantsila makes mixtures, extracts and various skincare products from the dried plants. Frantsila uses slow and gentle extracting methods in order to preserve the natural scents, colors and effective ingredients in the end product. The oils used by Frantsila are cold-pressed and mainly organically farmed.

No animal testing, no gene manipulation

The Frantsila products do not contain vaseline, paraffin, silicone, artificial colorants or scents, GMO nor parabens. The ingredients and production methods used by Frantsila are in compliance with the criteria for certified natural cosmetics.
