Camelina sativa – false flax
Camelina sativa is known as false flax (also called gold-of-pleasure). It is an oil plant, and most of the oil pressed from its seeds (58%) is polyunsaturated fatty acids. The oil is 39% omega-3 and 15% omega-6, so the ratio of omega fatty acids is good (1:2.6). Camelina is grown GMO-free.
Instructions for use
Camelina oil is suitable as it is for all cooking: to dress cooked vegetables, in fish dishes, as a salad dressing and for frying. It stands up to heating well. If you use the oil on its own as a supplement, the recommended serving is 1 tablespoon a day.
Storage
Store the oil in a cool place away from light. Once opened, the bottle is best used within a few months, so that the delicate fatty acids stay fresh.
