Christmas gifts and the legend of Santa Claus
Did you know that Santa Claus is originally from Finland? Depending on who you ask, Santa lives at the North Pole, in Canada, in Greenland or in Dalarna, Sweden. We know better: the real home of Santa is Korvatunturi.
Korvatunturi, or Ear Fell, is a fell in Finnish Lapland where, according to Finnish folklore, Santa Claus (Joulupukki in Finnish) lives with Mrs. Claus and the Christmas elves. This is where Santa's secret workshop is, and where the elves help him make presents for all the children in the world. Some say the ear-shaped fell, which gave the place its name, helps Santa hear the wishes of every child.
